About Bettacrete Precast

Bettacrete Precast Pty Ltd has operated from the Cavan site since its inception in 1958. The business was originally started by Jack Angel, who brought to Australia extensive knowledge and skill obtained from manufacturing Precast Concrete Floating Harbours used in the World War 11 Normandy invasion.

Originally established to manufacture concrete fence posts for the rural sector, the business soon diversified into other areas. The Smith family purchased Bettacrete in 1973. Today Bettacrete is the manufacturer with the largest range of Precast Concrete Products in South Australia, under Managing Director Richard Smith. The three senior managers in the business have over 70 years combined experience working with Precast Concrete.

To ensure increased compressive strength of the concrete products, Bettacrete uses Electromagnetic Variable Frequency Vibrating Tables in production, enabling the water cement ratio to be kept to a minimum. Bettacrete has multiple production lines developed to best suit the various production types. The use of overhead cranes gives the best cost-efficiency and the ability to manufacture and handle the products.

Bettacrete manufactures Precast Concrete Products from the smallest counterweights of 3kg up to 20 tonne Pollution Control Pits.  We have a range of “Off the Shelf” Products which can be seen on our Product Pages. We also specialise in the manufacture of “Custom Made” Products.
